ENGLISH TRANSLATION
I want to become shampoo, flowing down your hair
I want to cover you with my thick scent
If you used to like other scents, erase them now
I’ll make you drunk with all the scents in the world that don’t exist
If you, star-star-star, ever make me sad
I’ll make your eyes sting
But if you, start-star-star, make me happy
I can cover your whole body so the mirror can’t see you
I’m going to cover your whole body with white foam
I’m going to bury myself in you so no one else can take you
You can’t erase my scent
The first time I saw you, I hated the scent surrounding you
Now forget everything, I only want to bury my scent
The moment my lips say “I love you,” it’s the end
The moment you fell for me, even one second’s too long
Tick tock, you talk, we talk
Time  is going by and my heart’s going to burst
I hate myself when I’m  like this
If you, star-star-star, ever make me sad
I’ll make your eyes sting
But if you, start-star-star, make me happy
I can cover your whole body so the mirror can’t see you
I’m going to cover your whole body with white foam
I’m going to bury myself in you so no one else can take you
You can’t erase my scent
I want everyday-everyday, I love this moment
When we touch it’s a fantasy
When your wind blows I get swept away by it
Tears wash me, my heart is drilled, I’ll be your scent
Obvious scent goodbye, obvious love goodbye
Only my scent forever
If you hurt me, if you make me sad
I’ll make your eyes sting
I’m going to bury myself in you so  no one else can take you
You can’t erase my scent
If you hurt me, if you make me sad
I’ll make your eyes sting
I’m going to bury myself in you so  no one else can take you
You can’t erase my scent
But if you, start-star-star, make me happy
I can cover your whole body so the mirror can’t see you
I’m going to cover your whole body with white foam
Get the whole point now? Shampoo isn't a meaningless song.!

A playboy's reaction after watching let's step up
My two cents worth after watching it:
What is this? This is effort, a sort of “repayment” (there’s no such word) to their fans. It’s like saying, yes, we took a long time to comeback, but that’s only because we wanted to give you the very best of After School. They didn’t want to disappoint their fans, and so they come up with new concepts to break their limits every single time they had a comeback. Maybe not so much for Ah and Diva, which are near simliar. But they pushed their limits with Because Of You, they showed that you don’t have to have a cute concept for every single comeback, they said no, this time we’re going for vocals, and we’re going to let the new members prove their worth, which resulted in Raina’s awesome solo at the end. And after that, they came back with Bang, what with the synchronized drumming and bright clothes, it was a statement: “we don’t want to go along with whatever other’s are doing.” (I think it was the time when everyone was trying to go for the dark concept, and AS had Bang, which my friends said felt like a cheerleading song, but I went back to hear it again and surprise surprise, guess who got another solo at the end. Yes, Raina is my bias, deal with it)
I admit when I first saw them, I thought, “hey, they’re like the Korean Pussycat Dolls” but then i watched Because Of You, and it struck me how each of them are talented in their own way, especially their leader, Kahi. She can do what each and every one of them can do, sing, rap, dance, and I have to say exceptionally well at each of those, even with a solo album of her own. I’m sure she wasn’t born with all of that. She worked hard as a leader to set an example to the new members, a shout out that if they work hard, one day, the world will see After School for what they really are, a group full of talented and hardworking girls.

Kahi Fell but Remained Fierce on Mubank’s Stage

Girl group, After School put up a charismatic and splendid come back. On the 29th, After School staged their first come back performance on KBS 2TV “Music Bank” for their official first album.
After School’s strong performance had brought in much attention. Especially with “Let’s Step Up”, the tap-dancing caught everyone’s attention. After School’s Kahi said, “We practised for this performance for more than 5 months.” With the new member, Yiyoung, the group is given an additional dash of fresh and bright charms.
Today during the rehearsal, Kahi fell when the glass floors cracked. The broken glass on the floor fell apart and Kahi slipped and fell. However, it’s lucky that there are no obvious/big injuries. After School’s title track “Shampoo” combines the work of Won Taeyeon and Japan’s Daishi Dance

AfterSchool Comeback on Inkigayo
After a long hiatus, the After School girls are back on SBS’s Inkigayo with a brand new round of promotions after releasing their first album, “Virgin” earlier this week.

Decked out with a lovelier and more feminine concept, the girls have filled the album to the brim with songs that hold motivating themes like confidence and individuality. It’s been a long year since their last “Bang!” release, so the girls have set out to make this comeback particularly special.
In an interview with Sports Today, After School stated, “Because of a chain of events last year, we weren’t able to promote as a group. We’ve missed the stage that much more, and we’d like to emphasize that we’re promoting as a group now. It’s so fun and we love it.”
When asked about their tap dance routine, they replied, “It’s the result of five months of practice. Because of our personal schedules, we didn’t have a lot of time to practice but we truly tried our best. With our ‘Bang!’ promotions, we were always injuring our fingers. This time it’s our toes.”
The girls concluded, “We’ve been promoting individually until finally getting back together in nearly a year. Because of that, we’ll be giving our best on stage. Please give us your support, as we’ll be promoting for as long as possible.”
Their title track, “Shampoo”, was written by poet Won Tae Yeon (of Secret Garden’s “That Man“) and composed by Japanese producer, Daishi Dance.
With a subtle piano melody and an emphasis on the emotions behind the lyrics, the song seamlessly weaves in and out of After School’s beautiful vocals and powerful rapping.

LIZZY THE LAST ONE STANDING

Though the members of After School are all worn out from their schedule, Lizzy is still full of energy.
On May 2nd, a picture of the girls backstage was posted on the group’s official Twitter. You can see Lizzy pointing at her sleeping members as they doze off on the couch. In contrast to her sleepy members, Lizzy is still wide awake, showing that their tough schedule has yet to phase her.
Along with the photo, they wrote a caption, “One shot from the dressing room!! Please love ‘Shampoo‘ a lot!!! To #1!!!”
It looks like Lizzy is not tired at all. Netizens commented, “They must be tired. I feel bad”, “They are working hard for their performances”, “Why is Lizzy the only one with energy? You can’t lie about age”, “Lizzy is cute. She’s not tired?”

Got this from a forum

I
love After School, but one thing that gets me every time are the line distributions. They are an amazing group but the fact that some girls get 1 line and others get 5, it kind of makes them less legitimate as a singing group. But I do see this a lot in other girl groups too (I'm new to k-pop so maybe this is how it always works). What is the point of having so many people in the group, when some just end up being glorified back up dancers. Nana and Lizzy SHARING one line in BANG? I just don't understand why they keep adding people and not utilizing them. Sorry... I'm going to stop venting.
By and large, the After School members are not adept at singing. Raina is by far the most talented vocalist, with Kahi improving and Jung Ah merely servicable, which explains why Raina exclusively handles the entire chorus in 'Because of You'. There was a recent poll of industry people that suggested AS was the weakest of the Kpop groups. This isn't to say AS are not great performers, which is quite evident with the challenging dance choreography.
If management/Pledis wants to maximize the song quality, it makes sense to go with the most talented singers singing, so Raina tends to dominate choruses. With such a large group, with the average pop song only lasting ~3 minutes, it also doesn't leave a lot of singing opportunities/time for other members.

As far as the entertainment industry at large goes, music is merely an entryway to fame and attention...it provides opportunities to participate in variety/talk shows, to act in dramas, to fill stadiums for concerts and musicals, to endorse products (e.g. CFs), to brand oneself with fashion/beauty/accessory lines, and so on -- basically, ways to monetize. To enable this music 'entryway', it's desirable to put the best possible product out there, including catchy melodies and hooks (e.g. songwriting), talented singing (e.g. Raina), superb dance performances (e.g. Kahi), abundance of eye-candy (e.g. Juyeon and Nana), and broadcast-worthy personalities (e.g. Lizzy). It further behooves AS to comprise members that are all impossibly tall and thin, as well as dedicated and hard-working. Then you through in some unique touches, like adding a multi-instrument talent like E-young, to further distinguish your girl group from the pack. Of course I'm generalizing here about members simply
fulfilling 'roles', but this is just an attempt at trying to objectivize things

WELL SAID!!

FUN FACTS ABOUT AFTER SCHOOL
After School is like a school. It accepts new recruits as some of its other members decide to graduate. Other groups probably wouldn’t be able to survive such unstable situations, but After School has managed to find a balanced system of accepting and graduating its members. UEE, Lizzy, Raina, and Nana are just a few who were continuously added since the group debuted in 2009 with “Ah.”
UEE was introduced as the newest member with the release of After School’s digital single “Diva in early 2009. Raina and Nana were added in time for their second single “Because of You” in late 2009, and Lizzy joined in early 2010 with their third single “Bang!” E-Young is the fifth addition making After School a nine member girl group. In reality, only one member has graduated to date. Yoo So Young left the group late 2009 citing health issues. As a result, the ever growing size of After School has gotten fans wondering… How far are they going to go?

After School announced E-Young (20) as the newest member of their crew in time for their "Virgin" comeback. Multi-talented E-Young is musically gifted and plays various instruments like the piano, electric guitar, bass, drum, flute, and cello. While they’ve had a successful comeback, E-Young is still probably adjusting to her life as part of After School.

E-Young expressed, “It’s fun and exhilarating to be able to practice and perform with members I’ve seen on TV. They’ve gotten this far with their extensive efforts, and I’m lucky to be part of the group.” She added, “Truthfully, I haven’t gotten much of a chance to really talk to them, and I would love to get closer to the other members.

Team leader Kahi mentioned, E-Young hasn’t shown us much of herself yet; but then again, it hasn’t been that long since she joined us. One thing for sure is that she’s very curious and asks a lot of questions.” She’s the same age as Lizzy, but the two are completely different. Their members commented, “Lizzy is like a grown up, but E-Young is a baby.”

The members also confessed their concerns for the growing population. They joked about having to rent a bus to move the entire group from location to location. UEE stated, We could grow to twelve members.” Kahi followed the comment by saying, To tell you the truth, I’m ready to graduate, to which the rest of the members said, We won’t let you go!”
One of the difficulties with such a large group is that it’s hard to schedule a meeting or practice where everyone is present. Whenever someone misses a practice or show, the remaining members have to rearrange their choreographies to have multiple versions.

Two new girls were featured in songs for After Schools latest album “Virgin.” Yoon Jo featured in “Dream,” and Kyung Min featured in “Funky Man.” Both are trainees under Pledis Entertainment, After School’s management agency; and they are expected to debut as part of After School in the near future.

BEKAH EXPLAIN HER ABSENCE FROM LET"S STEP UP MV

Fans may have noticed by now that Bekah has been missing from After School’s “Let’s Step Up” performances. The girls have been earning headlines left and right for their impressive step dance routine, but where is Bekah?

Bekah herself recently revealed through Sports Chosun“I injured my ankle last year, which was why I was in the States. I recently injured it again during practice and wasn’t able to recover enough to perform our step dance routine. It requires surgery, but my schedule overlapped with our comeback so I had to push back my surgery date. I’m currently taking medication and am feeling better. It is upsetting that I wasn’t able to join the dance since I worked hard for it, but it’s okay because I’m able to rap on stage.”
She continued, “Fortunately, ‘Shampoo‘ doesn’t have an intense choreography like our previous promotions so there aren’t any difficulties for me. It’s been nearly a year since I’ve last stood on stage, so I’m both nervous and happy. I promise to work hard from here on out.”
